Support for service aid package

Moves to help service personnel including war veterans have been given public backing by the Scottish Government.

Communities Minister Alex Neil said the Government was "very supportive" of a consultation paper published by the Ministry of Defence, which will examine ways of preventing service personnel and their families losing out on services like housing, education and healthcare.

It also floats the idea of an armed forces charter and an Ombudsman for the armed forces.
