Nursery start dates may change

Starting dates for nursery education could be changed under plans being considered by the Scottish Government.

Youngsters now start nursery school the autumn after their third birthday. But this could be brought forward to a starting date closer to their birthday.

The SNP's election manifesto pledged a 50% increase in free nursery education for three and four-year-olds, increasing the entitlement from 400 to 600 hours a year.
