Ex-TV presenter only nominee

A former TV presenter has emerged as the only challenger for the SNP to fight a forthcoming Westminster by-election.

David Kerr, 35, will be the sole nominee at a selection meeting where the party will confirm the candidate for the Glasgow North East seat.

But Labour branded the development an "embarrassing farce" after local members recently rejected Mr Kerr as the candidate.
