Review on benefit of superteachers

The impact of a new breed of "superteacher" in classrooms will be revealed soon, it has been revealed.

Education Secretary Fiona Hyslop will tell a conference on Saturday that initial results of a review will be published in the summer with a fuller analysis next year.

The review by HM Inspectorate of Education is scrutinising Scotland's scheme for "chartered teachers", launched as part of a ground-breaking deal on teaching pay and conditions deal in 2000.
