Council staff reject pay offer

Two unions representing council workers in Scotland have rejected their latest pay offer.

The decisions by members of the Unite and GMB unions could raise the prospect of fresh strike action.

GMB members voted almost 2-1 against the latest pay deal tabled by Cosla (the Convention of Scottish Local Authorities) and colleagues in Unite also voted to reject the offer - despite last week's vote in favour by Unison members.
