Petition over alcohol-buying age

More than 10,000 people have signed a petition in protest against Scottish Government plans to raise the age for buying alcohol in shops and off-sales, campaigners said.

Ministers have put forward proposals to increase the legal age limit for buying drink in off-licences from 18 to 21.

The move is part of a package of measures aimed at ending Scotland's drink culture.
