TALENTED kids marched off with the praise of veteran war heroes after putting on an afternoon of musical entertainment.
The accordion and music group from Gleniffer High visited former servicemen and women at Erskine and regaled them classic tunes from war time films and musicals as well as a medley of Scottish songs.
The visit was arranged after the school learned that second year pupils Roy Campbell’s grandfather Hugh Wylie is in the hospital.
The 91-year-old Paisley man, along with dozens of his comrades at the care home for ex-soldiers, sailors and airmen, recently presented with a special veterans medal to mark his contribution to the war effort.
Gleniffer High headteacher David Nicholls paid tribute to his pupils’ performance.
“The kids went to Erskine and played a number of old tunes and it’s something the guys down there really enjoy,” he said.
“The group have been receiving great reviews recently and they really enjoy working out in the community.”
