PRO-LIFEstyle: Our new fitness column is on the way

The Paisley Daily Express has never looked better, thanks to this week’s relaunch of your favourite newspaper.

And now we are teaming up with our friends at the PRO-LIFE fitness centre, in New Sneddon Street, Paisley, to help make sure you can get in great shape too.

Each week, personal trainers Peter Kennedy and Gayle Brannigan-McLachlan will guide you through various exercises and give you handy hints on how to improve your general wellbeing.

Their column - PRO-LIFEstyle - is aimed at helping you to make improvements to your diet, fitness and energy levels.

If you want to get off the couch and into a great new exercise regime, our cracking PRO-LIFEstyle column is for you.

Peter, 39, works for The Project at PRO-LIFE and though a recent addition to the staff there, has been a personal trainer for eight years.

Peter said: “Training is not all about muscle – it is also about general health and wellbeing.

“We use things like the TRX suspension training system, where you are working against your own body weight, and we also have regular gym equipment such as treadmills.

“How we work with someone really depends on what their goals are.

Gayle, 36, is a familiar face in the busy Paisley gym and has been working in the fitness industry for 18 years.

She keeps her finger firmly on the pulse to make sure her clients have access to all the latest classes and trends and is keen to help people look and feel better.

Gayle, who runs a popular kettlebells class, said: “Around 65 per cent of looking good comes down to your diet – and working hard.

“Women see female celebrities looking more athletic and toned, and want to look fit too. We can help them achieve that.

“A combination of training and healthy eating will give the best results.”
