A MEMBER of the famous Red Hot Chilli Pipers has donated a unique framed bag cover to raise money for the funeral of Linwood teenager Craig Hepburn.
Craig was a member of Milngavie Pipe Band and his death has sent shockwaves through the close-knit Scottish bagpiping community.
Now Willie Armstrong, left, of the Red Hot Chilli Pipers, has handed over a framed bag cover which was used during the filming of the live ‘Blast’ DVD in 2008.
Speaking to Real Radio, Willie said he was keen to help Craig’s family.
He added: “I know this was probably the last thing they thought was going to happen, so they now have to find the money for the funeral.
“Anything I can do to help – even if I have to make a bid for the bag cover myself – I’ll do it.
“The Chilli Pipers did the live DVD back in 2008. We all had specially-made bag covers with the date and everything on and I kept mine for myself as a wee keepsake.”
The bag is a one-off and is signed and framed, along with a brass plaque.
It is being auctioned through the Cowal Pipe Band’s Facebook page and bidding ends on Monday.
As the Paisley Daily Express went to press yesterday, the highest bid stood at £475.
