One woman arrested after police allegedly seize £40k of cocaine

POLICE targeting suspected drug dealers seized around £40,000 worth of cocaine during a raid.

Cops swooped on an address in Erskine and seized a significant amount of what is believed to be the class-A drug on Monday afternoon.

The operation took place in Turnyland Way – a quiet residential street – at around 12.30pm.

Only one address was turned over during the bust.

Police confirmed yesterday that a 34-year-old female was arrested in relation with alleged offences under the Misuse of Drugs Act.

She is expected to appear at Paisley Sheriff Court in due course.

It comes only days after police staged a drugs swoop on eight houses in Ferguslie Park, Paisley.

Inspector Julie Henry, of the Community Investigation Unit, told the Paisley Daily Express yesterday that her officers will continue to clamp down on local dealers.

“It is still our priority to target drug dealers and those who look to profit from this type of criminality in Paisley and Renfrewshire,” she said.

“If there are any members of the public who have information about drug dealers operating in their area, I would urge them to contact police on the usual numbers as soon as possible.”

Last Friday, police targeted eight houses in Ferguslie Park during a co-ordinated blitz on suspected dealers.

They seized a haul of heroin, cocaine and cannabis, as well as a firearm, during searches at properties in Dalskeith Avenue, Tannahill Crescent and Ferguslie Park Avenue.

Nine men and four women were reported for alleged drugs offence.
