COPS were yesterday examining CCTV footage as they hunt for three men following a brutal knife attack on a motorist.
The 47-year-old victim was scarred for life when his face was slashed just moments after he was involved in a minor car accident near Johnstone.
Police believe the attack wasn’t random and are hoping that CCTV images will lead them to the suspects.
They are also asking anyone who has information about the incident, which took place at around 1.30pm on Friday, to come forward.
The victim was driving his black Bentley GT along Houston Road, near the junction with Barnsford Road, when his car was hit from behind by a silver-coloured saloon car.
He spoke to two men who got out of the car and they agreed they would move both vehicles to a safer spot.
After this had been done, the victim was slashed as he sat in the driver’s seat of his Bentley, leaving him with severe facial injuries.
Police have said the knifeman is aged in his 40s, approximately 6ft tall, of medium build and had short grey hair with ear-length sideburns. He was wearing a black zipper jacket with a white top underneath, light-coloured denims and dark footwear.
The driver of the silver car is around 5ft 10ins tall and of a thin build.
A second passenger is around 25 to 30, with “salt and pepper-coloured” short hair and a very pale complexion. He was wearing a black V-neck jumper, grey jogging bottoms and dark-coloured trainers.
Detective Sergeant Stevie Adams, of Paisley CID, said: “This was a truly horrifying, calculated attack.
“Extensive enquiries are underway and I would appeal to motorists who were driving on Houston Road at the time of the incident to get in touch.”
Anyone with information can call Paisley Police Office on 0141 435 1009 or 0141 532 5900. Alternatively, they can ring Crimestoppers 0800 555 111.
