COMPETITION was fierce as members of the Boys’ Brigade took part in their annual games.
Youngsters representing 14 companies from the Paisley & District Battalion gathered at Sherwood Greenlaw Church, in Paisley, for the event.
A total of 56 boys took part in sports such as basketball, as well as traditional games, including draughts and Connect 4.
A battalion spokesman said: “It was a fun day for all those who took part in the games and activities. It also gave our boys the opportunity to meet up with Boys’ Brigade members from other areas.
“We always try to make these get-togethers as entertaining as possible and include a variety of pursuits. The games events are also part of the ongoing programme of joint activities currently being organised by the battalion.”
Youngsters from the 22nd Paisley company were the winners of the table games competition, while the top prize for the wider world category went to the 1st Kilbarchan company and the indoor games title was split between joint winners 1st Erskine, 1st Bridge of Weir and 16th Paisley.
The Boys’ Brigade runs a varied programme for all ages of boys and young men, as well as playing an important role in many church youth activities.
