Kids fundraise for animal charity

BIG-hearted pupils have raised hundred of pounds for charity by organising some money-spinning ideas.

Youngsters at Brediland Primary, in Paisley, ran a book and cake sale at the school and coined in more than £230.

Now the boys and girls have donated the money to the Scottish Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals.

Our photograph shows primary six pupil Rayne Stevenson with her classmates handing over a special cheque to SSPCA representative Alex Robertson.

A spokeswoman at the school said: “All the children did very well.

“It was primary six who organised the sale and the whole school helped make cakes to sell.

“They raised a lot of money and the SSPCA thanked everyone at the school for all the work done.”
