Pedal power raises over a grand for Kibble duo

BIG-HEARTED workers from the Kibble Education and Care Centre in Paisley had to rely on pedal power to help them coin in the cash.

Kerryanne Galbraith and John McBarron cycled the 12 miles round the Isle of Cumbrae in aid of Yorkhill Children’s Foundation – and raised a staggering £1,200.

Kerryanne, 24, agreed to take on the gruelling challenge after learning that her colleague’s grandson had been ill and spent time in Yorkhill Children’s Hospital.

She said: “John’s grandson, Taylor, who is two, was treated in Yorkhill a year ago but is thankfully on the mend now.

“He was well enough to come along with his parents and meet us as we were finishing the cycle ride.

“It was fantastic to see him and his parents.”

She added: “John and I had some fantastic help with the event and people rallied round to make sure our sponsorship haul was impressive.

“I just want to thank the likes of Chivas, Kibble staff and the young people of Kibble for helping us to raise around £1,200.

“It was hard work but on such a cold and wet, in fact, make that freezing, morning, it was all well worth it!”
