Carlaw reveals new plans to ease congestion on the roads

WEST of Scotland MSP Jackson Carlaw has hailed Conservative plans to allow cars with passengers to use bus and taxi lanes.

The Tory politician believes the move will ease traffic congestion in towns like Paisley.

Mr Carlaw said: “It’s absolutely vital that we develop strategies that amount to more than telling people they will have to ditch their car and start travelling by public transport.

“We need to make travel more efficient and offer rewards for schemes which encourage widespread car sharing, whether through car clubs or by allowing multiple occupancy vehicles to make use of bus and taxi lanes.”
