A MAN suffered three jaw fractures when he was attacked in a street across from a police station.
The 33-year-old victim was with a friend when the brutal assault happened in the early hours of the morning.
He later went to hospital, where doctors discovered injuries on both sides of his jaw.
It’s understood the victim has been through surgery to repair the damage.
The beating happened in Gauze Street, near the Mill Street police HQ, in Paisley, early on the morning of Sunday, August 29.
It’s unclear how many people attacked the victim.
The friend who was with him was also assaulted but his injuries are not serious.
Police have been looking through CCTV footage in the hope the incident was caught on film.
A motive for the assaults is unknown and police inquiries are continuing.
In an appeal for witnesses, a police spokesman said: “This was a serious incident and anyone who saw the disturbance or has other information that might help the investigation is asked to ring Paisley Police Office on 0141 532 5900.”
