A MAN was recovering yesterday after being hit by a car in the centre of Paisley.
The 40-year-old was taken to the town’s Royal Alexandra Hospital for treatment after the accident just after 6pm on Tuesday on St James Street across from the Sheriff Court building.
He was knocked to the ground and left lying in the middle of the road after being hit a “glancing blow” by a vehicle.
As paramedics attended to his injuries police closed the road to traffic for about 45 minutes.
A police spokesman said: “At first we thought the man’s injuries were serious but that later turned out not to be the case.”
He was allowed home after treatment.
