MOTORISTS in part of Paisley were furious yesterday after a ned slashed the tyres of their vehicles parked in the street.
One vehicle,a Fiat, had all four tyres ripped and the repair bill is expected to cost hundreds of pounds.
Targeted in one night were at least four cars and a van in the neighbouring streets of Gallowhill Road, Netherhill Crescent and Claud Road, all Gallowhill, Paisley.
They were vandalised some time between Wednesday, July, 14 and the next morning.
Shocked owners only discovered the extent of the damage when they were about to head for work.
Among the cars damaged was a BMW, Vauxhall Zafira, a Fiat and Vauxhall Astra van.
A motorist who spoke to the PDE said: “There must have been four or five vehicles damaged. One had all four tyres slashed.
“This has happened before in this area and for all I know it could be the same person.
“It’s been done out of badness. The overall repair bill will run into the high hundreds of pounds.”
Last night police appealed for witnesses to the incident.
One officer said: “If anyone heard or saw a person or people acting suspiciously in that area of Gallowhill on July 14 and 15 ring Paisley Police Office on 0141 532 5900 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
