Six people quizzed during drug raids

SIX people were quizzed by cops after a series of daylight drug raids on homes in a Paisley housing scheme.

Yesterday, it was revealed that thousands of pounds worth of amphetamine and diazepam had been seized.

Officers swooped on homes in neighbouring streets at the town’s Ferguslie Park area.

In all cases the cop squads got into the targeted houses without trouble.

During a number of room-by-room searches illegal drugs were found.

The substances have been sent to the police laboratory for analysis.

Later, police said six people were questioned under the Misuse of Drugs Act.

That led to three being arrested and three others being reported to the procurator fiscal.

The ages of all six range from early 20s to mid 40s.

One officer added: “A number of people will be appearing at Paisley Sheriff Court soon in connection with alleged drug offences.”
