A TALENTED schoolgirl was all aglow when she receives an award for her artwork.
Amy Brummitt is the winner of a Scotland-wide creative competition to design a background for Glow, the Scottish schools intranet.
The nine-year-old’s design of a row of children holding hands caught the judges eye.
And she was given a Nintendo DS console for herself and a Wii console and Wii Fit for her fellow pupils at Bridge of Weir Primary.
Her design will also be used as the background to the Glow intranet site.
The competition was run by Learning and Teaching Scotland (LTS) and P6 pupil Amy’s design was chosen from 230 other applicants.
Amy said: “When Mrs Doherty, the head teacher, told me in front of my class I couldn’t believe it. The whole class cheered and clapped and were very excited for me but not as excited as I was.”
