WORKERS in Paisley are among the most generous when it comes to giving gifts to colleagues.
According to a new report, more than half of Buddies spent up to £10 on a ‘Secret Santa’ gift for a workmate this Christmas.
However, Scrooge-like Yorkshiremen and women were the stingiest, with 60 per cent of them spending less than £5 on Secret Santa presents.
The survey by High Street home retailer Robert Dyas revealed that men are less likely to splash the cash on gifts for co-workers.
Company spokesman Richard Redman said: “It’s not surprising that people scrimped on gifts for colleagues this Christmas.
“It has been a difficult year for shoppers and it looks like we are all still trying to save money where we can.
“There is no need, however, for presents for people you work with to slip to the bottom of the list of spending priorities.
“You simply need to know where you can get the most for your gift budget.”
