A TEENAGER suffered multiple stab wounds after violence erupted at a late- night house party in Paisley.
The 19-year-old victim was knifed at least four times and the point of the blade sliced into his liver. His pancreas is also believed to have been damaged.
Two of the wounds were to his chest, while he also suffered injuries to his back and arm.
It’s understood the teenager had to go through life-saving surgery when his condition suddenly deteriorated after he had been taken to Paisley’s Royal Alexandra Hospital.
Yesterday, detectives revealed they are treating the incident as attempted murder.
The victim was knifed while at a party in a flat in Morven Avenue, in the Glenburn housing scheme.
It was around 2.30am on Sunday when the badly-injured teenager somehow managed to stagger outside and make his way to his mum’s home, which is in a neighbouring street.
One source told the Paisley Daily Express: “When the victim reached the family home, he was bleeding badly.
“His shocked mum immediately alerted the emergency services and the teenager was rushed to the RAH but his condition later took a turn for the worse and he had to be rushed to an operating theatre, where surgeons managed to stop the internal bleeding.”
Within an hour of the horrific incident, detectives had arrested two young men. They were taken to Mill Street police station in Paisley, where they were quizzed and later charged.
A police spokesman said: “Two men – aged 24 and 16 – face charges of attempted murder following an incident at a flat in Morven Avenue, Paisley, at the weekend. They are expected to appear at court soon.”
Meanwhile, detectives are continuing to investigate an attempted murder that took place at a flat in Johnstone when a man was stabbed in the chest and arm.
It’s understood that a four-year-old boy was in the flat at the time.
Victim Allan Grant, 26, was in the hallway of the property in MacDowall Street, near Johnstone’s police station, when a knifeman burst in and lunged at him.
The attacker lashed out at least three times and seriously injured Mr Grant.
One horrified neighbour said: “There was a wee boy in that flat when the attack happened on Friday morning.
“I don’t think the youngster saw what happened but he probably saw the injured man. It must have been a terrible shock for him.”
As the Express revealed on Saturday, police are treating this attack as attempted murder.
The knifeman is described as about 6ft tall, slim and was wearing dark clothing. He was also carrying a satchel.
Detective Sergeant Jim Mimnagh, the officer in charge of the investigation, said: “Our inquiries are at an early stage and we have not yet established a motive for the attack.
“I would appeal to anyone who may have seen the suspect outside a flat in MacDowall Street, either before the incident or afterwards, to come forward.
“It happened at around 8.45am in a busy area and there would have been a lot of traffic passing by at the time. I would therefore urge motorists and passengers to contact the police if they have any information which might help us with our inquiries.”
Anyone who can help is asked to contact Johnstone CID on 01505 404000 or ring Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
