STAFF at a Paisley college’s refectory are celebrating after they were praised for cooking up a treat by creating a healthy new menu.
Reid Kerr College has been granted Consumer Focus Scotland’s Healthyliving Award.
And workers at the busy refectory are delighted that their healthy menus are going down a treat.
The Healthyliving Award rewards good practice and highlights businesses that are making it easier to eat healthily when eating out.
Reid Kerr College refectory manager Stuart Mullen said: “This award is great recognition for all of the staff who work here and is a sign that we are delivering a good range of food options to all of our customers.”
The Healthyliving Award has been presented to the Paisley college in recognition of its ongoing commitment to reduce the levels of fat, salt and sugar across their menus, make fruit and vegetables available and have an appropriate sales promotion and marketing strategy to support healthy eating.
Stuart added: “The college’s refectory menu will continue to uphold the conditions of the award, which is valid for two years.
“And we are looking forward to welcoming our staff and students when they return this month to start the new term and try out the latest healthy options menus.”
