A PREGNANT woman was rushed to hospital yesterday after being hit by a car near a Paisley school.
The incident happened at around 11.30am as she was crossing the town’s Rowan Street, a short distance from St Charles Primary.
The woman, who lives in Paisley, is in her late teens.
Her condition was checked at the scene before she was taken by ambulance to Paisley’s Royal Alexandra Hospital.
One source said: “The woman is pregnant but, thankfully, she appears to be okay. I think she was only taken to hospital for a check-up.”
A police spokesman added: “We are asking anyone who witnessed this accident to call Paisley Police Office on 0141 532 5900.”
