We’ll be as cold as ice

BUDDIES have been warned they can expect to continue to shiver this week as temperatures remain below zero.

On Sunday, thermometers in the town went right down to minus 3.7 degrees Centigrade.

Thick fog and hard frost characterised the weekend, which saw a return to seasonal temperatures for Paisley in December for the first time in some years.

And today won’t fair much better than the weekend, with the forecast for the evening putting the thermometers at minus 3.

As a result, the Met Office has issued a severe weather warning.

A spokesperson said: “There is a moderate risk of a severe weather event. There is the potential for ice affecting untreated surfaces, following the clearance of a band of wintry precipitation moving south-eastwards overnight.”
