Tobin found guilty of Vicky's murder

PETER Tobin has been found guilty of murdering schoolgirl Vicky Hamilton.

The 62-year-old was found guilty at the High Court of Dundee today of abducting, raping and killing the 15-year-old, who was last seen alive in Bathgate, West Lothian, on February 10, 1991.

Vicky's remains were later found in the back garden of a house formerly occupied by Tobin in Margate in Kent.

The verdict came after a trial lasting four-and-a-half weeks. Tobin, who previously lived in Paisley and Renfrew had denied the charge, claiming he had been in the Portsmouth area when Vicky disappeared.
