Kids get hooked on learning about seafood!

THERE was something fishy going on when youngsters from a Paisley school enjoyed a field trip with a difference.

The pupils at Langcraigs Nursery in Glenburn got up close and personal with some creatures from the deep during a visit to their local Morrisons supermarket.

The children were given a tour of the Falside Road store as part of the supermarket’s Let’s Grow initiative and the Seafood Fortnight event.

Store manager Sean McGowan explained: “The purpose of the Let’s Grow programme is to get local children into their nursery or school gardens to learn about where fresh food comes from, how it grows and the health benefits associated with it.

“We would encourage all our customers to support local schools by collecting vouchers for the Let’s Grow scheme.

“Seafood Fortnight was again used to educate the children to learn where their fresh fish comes from and the different types you can get.

“The children really enjoyed the experience of sampling lots of different types of healthy foods and left knowing more about how vegetables grow, sea life and the ocean.”
