TWO very talented student crimpers prepared for the up-and-coming UK Skills event by pitting their wits against some of Europe’s top stylists.
The hairdressing team from Reid Kerr College in Paisley visited Paris to take part in the Organisation Mondiale Coiffure (OMC) Junior Competitions.
It took place in the Expo Centre at Port De Versailles.
Buddie Kirsten Adams, 19 and Jenna Smillie, 18 from Dalry competed against some of the top stylists from all over Europe.
Lecturer David Farquar, who was on the trip, said: “The students did very well and their work was of a very high standard.
“It was a great experience for everyone given that these competitions are at international level. The girls worked confidently on the competition floor, which is a clear reflection of the ongoing training received here at the college.”
Margaret Campbell, Head of Hairdressing and Beauty said, “Senior Lecturer Val Lang and the students dedicate a lot of personal time and effort in perfecting their skills for all of the competitions and events the college enters.”
Top students will be honoured for their exceptional performance at the UK Skills awards later this month.
