Kids jump to it!

SUNSHINE made a welcome guest appearance as hundreds of people enjoyed a family fun day.

Staff at Linwood Community Education Centre teamed up with their friends at the Linwood Active project to stage the special event and a fantastic time was had by all.

Organisers estimate that around 400 people turned up on the day and they enjoyed a host of activities, including an inflatable assault course, bouncy castle, beat-the-goalie contest, raffle and tombola.

A table top sale, organised by staff at the education centre, was also a resounding success.

Lesley Compston, secretary of Linwood Active, said there was great community spirit on show.

She added: “It was fantastic, absolutely brilliant. We had good weather and we reckon more than 400 people turned up, which was fantastic. That’s the most we have ever had at an event like that.

“There was a great community feeling and everyone was enjoying themselves.

“The only complaints we had were that things were selling out because the event was so popular.

“We staged a show called That’s Entertainment and it was a big success. Everyone really enjoyed that.

“It was a great community event, which is what we had set out to provide, so we are all delighted by its success.”
