Make sure of a charity windfall

COMMUNITY groups can improve their environment by getting their hands on some funding.

The Renfrewshire Environmental Trust (RET) is a local charity which is issuing grants of up to £5,000 in November.

Projects involve repair or restoration of buildings of historical and/or architectural interest, increasing the variety of plants and/or animals in the area or providing, maintaining or improving public amenities and parks are all eligible to apply for the funding.

RET development officer Kirsten Robb said: “Environmental projects are a great way to bring communities together to make a visible difference to an area.

“We hope more community groups will sign up to the Environmental Network to help kick start more local projects.

“If you are inspired to enhance your community and are part of a non profit organisation, then RET can provide the funds and advice to help you make a difference to the local environment.

“The only requirement is that these improvements are accessible by the public.”

RET not only helps to finance local community groups but also provides support and information through the free-to-join Renfrewshire Environmental Network.
