LOVELY little fairy princesses got stuck into their dressing up boxes and pulled out all the stops for a performance of the classic Sleeping Beauty.

Pink was the favourite colour of the day as families gathered to watch the much-loved fairy tale, which was made famous by Walt Disney in the ‘50s.

The story was performed at the Byre House at Formakin Estate, Bishopton, to raise cash for St Vincent’s Hospice in Howwood.

A hospice spokeswoman said: “Around 150 people enjoyed an exclusive performance of Sleeping Beauty by the renowned Charterhouse Theatre Company in the picturesque garden.

“The glorious sunshine of the afternoon encouraged everyone to bring their picnic along and enjoy the peaceful surroundings, prior to the start of the performance.

“The classic fairy tale story was portrayed with a 1940’s twist, enthralling the audience – young and old – who were there to raise funds for the hospice.

“Money was raised on the day but we don’t have a final figure yet for exactly how much.”

Children dressed up in their favourite fairy tale costumes and took part in a special parade as their delighted parents looked on.

They opted for halos, beautiful pink frocks, princess dresses and angel wings and were captivated by the actors in the show.
