BUDDIES have been left baffled after they spotted bright lights in the sky above Paisley.
The sightings in the Whitehaugh and Ralston areas on Tuesday night have led to some people claiming that UFOs are targeting the town.
One Paisley Daily Express reader said: “At 9pm, I saw bright lights outside and got up to look out of the window.
“I could see around 30 bright circular, ball-shaped lights spinning around in a circle.
“The shadows of the lights were definitely coming from the sky down and not the ground up. They were there for about 10 minutes.
“I’m not a believer in that sort of thing but I can’t explain it.”
One possible explanation is that spotlights from the Territorial Army base in Hawkhead Road were responsible for the spooky show.
But, yesterday, a TA spokesman confirmed they were not using lights on Tuesday evening.
Last month, the Express told how a number of people spotted bright, floating lights in the sky over the south end of Paisley.
However, it’s thought these may have been caused by Chinese lanterns. These are a popular form of outdoor party light that floats thanks to the heat caused by a candle.
