RESIDENTS and businesses in the West End of Paisley are being urged to have their say on plans to breathe new life into the area.
Renfrewshire Council bosses are seeking the views of people who live and work in the area as part of a regeneration strategy for the West End.
A draft regeneration strategy for the West End, known as an Area Development Framework (ADF), was launched for public consultation in December last year.
The ADF seeks to address the physical and social regeneration of the area, with a focus on housing, environmental improvement and community safety.
Council chiefs say the consultation exercise has proven very successful and comments have been received from a range of local community groups and community planning partners.
Among those who have been consulted are the Paisley West and Central Community Council, local tenants’ associations, Strathclyde Police and the University of the West of Scotland.
To complete the consultation process, an open day is being held to allow all of those within the West End to have their say on the proposals.
The special event takes place between 3pm and 7pm today at the Well Street Community Centre, in Underwood Lane, Paisley.
Information boards which set out the main elements of the ADF will be on display and officers from the planning and housing departments will be available to discuss the plans.
Officers from the council’s Anti-Social Behaviour Team, neighbourhood housing office and Strathclyde Police will also be available to discuss the range of issues which currently affect the West End.
