I'm not performing at Classic Grand, says Nutini

CHART-TOPPER Paolo Nutini has warned fans not to fall for a rogue gig promoter who claims the Paisley singer-songwriter is to play an intimate concert at a tiny venue.

It was claimed the New Shoes star was to take to the stage at Glasgow’s Classic Grand on Thursday, May 7, but his management team insist the former St Andrew’s Academy pupil has agreed no such performance.

A spokesperson for Paolo told the Paisley Daily Express: “It has been bought to our attention that tickets have been put on sale for a Paolo Nutini show at the Classic Grand venue in Glasgow for May 7.

“Paolo and his management were not aware of this show and Paolo is unable to commit to playing anywhere on this date.

“We have advised Tickets Scotland and the venue to make refunds to anyone who thought they were buying tickets for a Paolo Nutini concert.

“We have also contacted the promoter and requested that Paolo’s name is removed from any listings.

“For up-to-date information on gigs and news from Paolo, people can sign up to the fan club on his website at www.paolonutini.com

“We will be making an announcement in the near future regarding Paolo’s future touring plans.”

One gig that Paolo will be performing at is the star-studded Sound and Vision charity concert at London’s famous Abbey Road studios on Thursday, February 26.

The talented Buddie will be joined by the likes of Paul Weller – who shot to fame as lead singer with The Jam – at the event, which will raise funds for Cancer Research UK.

Sound and Vision will be co-hosted by TV celebrity Dermot O’Leary and legendary DJ Bob Harris.
