Zippy staff coin in charity cash

A TEAM of big-hearted airport managers have raised pots of cash by staging some ‘zippy’ charity action.

The Glasgow Airport crew completed a sponsored zipslide – also known as ‘The Death Slide’ – from the top of the famous Finnieston crane over the River Clyde to Pacific Quay.

Their efforts raised £1,300 for the Prince and Princess of Wales Hospice, which provides specialist palliative care for people with life-limiting illnesses and support for their families and carers.

Derek Provan, BAA Glasgow customer service director, organised the daring slide.

He said: “The hospice is a great organisation and it’s a great feeling to help raise money for such a worthwhile cause. It didn’t take much persuasion to get the rest of the team on board. They were big-hearted enough to volunteer to take part.”
