Friend is such a great loss

Dear Magenta

I RECENTLY lost my dearest friend.

We met in primary school68 years ago, and remained firm friends till her passing in April of this year.

We were like sisters, supporting each other through boyfriends, marriages, births and bereavements.

We both lost our husbands within a year of each other, Eunice’s husband George first, and my wonderful Bobby 10 months later.

Even our babies were born in the same years, and we watched them grow together, marry and have their own families.

My own health is not good now and getting around is not so easy, so I don’t really go out much now. I know I am fortunate I am surrounded by love, both from my own and Eunice’s family, and I have a lot to be grateful for.

I don’t mean to complain, but I miss her so much. When I lost Bobby she kept me going and got me through it, but now I look around me, so many have gone and I’m still here. I feel so lonely, please can you tell me if they are all happy in spirit?

I miss Bobby so much, he was the love of my life. Eunice was the sister I never had, my life is so empty without her.

I love my family Magenta but they have their own lives. I am tired and ready to go when God wants to take me, but I just want to know they are all okay.

Are they together and will I be with them when my time comes?

BOBBY, Eunice, George, your brother Walter, Mum and Dad all come forward for you, and I am to tell you all are well and at peace in spirit.

Mum tells me she and your gran were spiritual, as are you. She tells me Gran used to have séances in her front parlour and that you sensed spirit since you were a child, although you don’t mention it in your letter.

Bobby tells me you two loved dancing, and shows me a small cup you both won. I hope this makes sense, but along with Eunice and George he takes me to England for this event, and show me what appears to be a holiday-type resort.

I am to tell you, despite your wishes, it is not your time yet, you still have work to do here.

They also tell me you are to be a great-gran around December. You and this child will have a special bond. I am to tell you they all send their love from spirit, and say your days will soon be full of joy and laughter again.

I am also to tell you the cat is the best thing that’s happened to you in a long time.
