PSYCHIC Buddie Derek Ogilvie is wowing audiences in Holland with his amazing mind-reading abilities.
The Foxbar man has pulled in more than one million viewers with his Dutch TV show, Derek Ogilvie: The Ghost Whisperer.
And his upcoming theatre tour of Holland has sold out 31 dates with 28,000 tickets gone so far.
The former Paisley Daily Express columnist said: “I did 20 theatre dates in Amsterdam alone in 14 days from October 10 to 23 – I was exhausted after that !
“I rented the theatre for two weeks and was the first solo artist ever to do that. I played to 19,000 people.”
Derek put on two shows each Saturday, Sunday and Wednesday on his Amsterdam tour and one evening show on the other day.
“I was a zombie when we finished!” he joked.
Derek’s shows can be revealing and emotional and some footage from one of the Amsterdam nights has been posted on popular video-sharing website YouTube.
He said: “I sang Angels at the end with 950 people holding night lights. It was very moving and there were lots of people crying.”
And as if a hit TV series and sell-out live shows weren’t enough to keep Derek busy, he has also released a baby book in Holland about how to bring up your baby and is releasing a DVD of one of his live shows.
He said: “My publisher has sent 47,500 copies of the book off to the shops and my latest live theatre show DVD is also in the shops.
“I am also just finishing off my TV series. Just a few things to keep me busy!”
Derek first appeared on screen with his own show for Channel 5, The Baby Mind reader where he helped unhappy babies and their parents.
The Dutch version of that show, Baby’s Wil Is Wet – which translates into What Baby Wants Is Law – was a huge hit with viewers on the continent and also pulled in over a million viewers.
Now the second series of Derek Ogilvie, The Ghost Whisperer has pulled in more than one million viewers, which is a 19 per cent audience share.
In it he gives viewers more of an insight into his life behind-the-scenes and away from the cameras on the show.
It is based around him performing on stage as well as visiting the homes of people in Holland who have lost loved ones, are experiencing poltergeist activity or children who see dead people.
