People who were inspired to get active by London 2012 can take part in new fitness classes.
Jogging Buddies, Renfrewshire’s own running network, is launching its new beginner classes this week, for everyone from the complete novice to the more experienced runner.
The beginners programme starts with a gentle walk/jog then builds up gradually until you are jogging continuously.
And as a special offer to tie in with the UK’s fantastic summer of sport, Jogging Buddies is offering the 10-week block at a price of £25, which includes free entry to the popular Jingle Bell Fun Run at Barshaw Park on Sunday, December 2 – saving £10.
A spokeswoman for Jogging Buddies said: “If you haven’t run or jogged before, you are probably looking for a way to get started. Jogging Buddies has qualified jog leaders to guide and support you to attain your goal, in a safe and friendly environment.
“If you are a more experienced runner, you will find motivation in running with a group. Your jog leader will help you define your goals and devise a training programme.
“Whether you are a novice or experienced, you will meet new people and make new friends.”
The classes are on Mondays at 6.30pm at Houston Village Hall and Renfrew Leisure Centre; Tuesdays at 6pm at the Lagoon Leisure Centre, Paisley and at 6.30pm at Gleniffer High School and Lochwinnoch Indoor Football Centre.
Ralston Community Sports Centre is the venue on Wednesdays at 7pm, while on Thursday evenings at 6.30pm you can go to Elderslie Village Hall or Erskine Sports Centre.
There is also a class which leaves Linwood Sports Centre every Saturday at 10am.
