Mediums set up Johnstone Church

SPIRITUALISTS who claim to have powers to communicate with the dead have created a new church.

Johnstone mediums Jane Dawson and Genevieve Bailey aim to put families in touch with loved ones who have passed away at weekly ‘healing’ sessions.

They will meet for the first time at Johnstone Town Hall’s lesser hall on Wednesday, February 10.

Jane, 43, who works as a communications and marketing manager, is looking forward to a busy first night.

She said: “We have been looking to start a spiritualist meeting in this area for some time and are delighted that the town hall has become available.

“Our wish is that the weekly meeting is a friendly, welcoming place where people can come to be re-united with their loved ones who have passed to the spirit world.

“We hope to provide convincing evidence that life goes on after physical death and that loved ones are only a thought away and still love and care for those they’ve left behind.”

Genevieve, 38, an admin worker at Paisley’s Reid Kerr College, added: “The church will run weekly from 7.15pm to 8.30pm, after which light refreshments will be served and there will be an opportunity to ask questions or maybe receive some spiritual healing.

“We will also have a development circle for those who wish to investigate or develop their spiritual side.

“The first night will be free of charge but there will normally be a small entry charge to cover hire of the hall and our visiting medium’s expenses.”
